According to an announcement made by the organisation on Saturday, New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was taken into custody in Southern California on Friday night after suffering a medical incident.

According to TMZ, Graham was taken into custody after displaying erratic behaviour, which led to his arrest. After Graham was examined by a physician, the Saints think they have determined that he had a seizure. Graham was discharged from the hospital early Saturday morning and is already back with the Saints after spending the previous week recovering from his injury.

On Saturday, the Saints made the following statement available to the public:

“New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham experienced a medical episode last evening, which resulted in him becoming disoriented. He was taken into custody by local authorities and transported to a local hospital for evaluation for what Dr. John Amoss believes to be a likely seizure and spent the night under medical supervision and testing. Amoss met Graham at the hospital and is overseeing his care at this time. He was released this morning and is with the team as they continue preparations for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.”

According to reports, Graham was detained by law enforcement after they received a tip about a suspicious person behaving in an unpredictable manner. Graham was found by the officers as he was walking the streets. Graham allegedly resisted the police as they attempted to place him under custody.

According to TMZ, Graham was taken into custody on “suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance as well as resisting, delaying, and obstructing a police officer.” Both of these are considered to be lesser offences.

On Sunday, the Saints will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a football game. It is not certain whether or not Graham will participate in that game.
